COVID-19 Response Plan

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, it is our duty as an organisation to put clear measures in place to uphold our number one priority; the safety and well-being of our valued guests and team members. Whether you are staying with us for business or leisure, our stunning properties, Avenue Hotel, Deco Hotel and Pavilion on Northbourne continue to provide a safe haven for our guests during these uncertain times. While all our hotel properties maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, we have implemented the following additional health and safety measures to minimise the risk of transmission and to protect our guest’s safety.

Monitoring

We are continuing to closely monitor the current COVID-19 outbreak and acting on the current and future government and relevant health authority’s advice. We are making sure we are following all the latest guidance from the World Health Organisation and our own government’s Department of Health. We have also increased our communication with our partners and government public health agencies to make sure we are receiving constant updates so we can keep all our guests well-informed.

Cleanliness & Hygiene

While all our hotel properties uphold high standards to maintain a clean environment, we have increased frequency of cleaning and disinfection throughout the hotel and every room. Cleaning schedules in public areas have been increased with a particular focus on disinfecting hand railings, elevators, bathrooms and doors, using a suitable and effective disinfectant. We have also set up hand sanitising stations which are regularly refilled for any guests and visitors coming through our hotel.   

Staff Training

All staff will be taken through the new team personal hygiene measures, proper hand-washing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers. This includes regular sanitising of hands, staff work areas, maintaining social distancing and no hand-shaking or any other form of physical contact. Team members will also be shown the COVID-19 Safe Plan so they know what to do in the event that a guest or one of their colleagues is showing signs and symptoms of the virus.

In the event that a guest or employee may fall unwell, we have implemented safety measures to minimise the spread of the virus. If one of our staff is feeling unwell they will be sent home to isolate and get tested.
